As the Americas governance and compliance leader for the Saudi Arabian Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC) in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, Edgar Fauteux maintains responsibility for internal control development, performs regular compliance reviews, and manages a three-person staff of professionals who report directly to him. Previously, Edgar Fauteux served as the company’s head of financial reporting in North America. SABIC’s operations in the Americas include SABICS’s distribution arm as one of the worlds largest chemical companies, as well as the Plastics division acquired recently from GE Plastics.
Edgar Fauteux brings significant multinational financial experience to his role at SABIC. For eight years, he was an executive with United Technologies Corporation (UTC). During his tenure with the company, he oversaw financial operations for Brazilian and Latin American operations and was located in Sao Paulo, Brazil. He is fluent in Portuguese and Spanish, and maintains deep cultural ties to Brazil.
In addition to his professional interests, Edgar Fauteux is a competitive amateur tennis player. He is actively involved with the United States Tennis Association, the American Platform Tennis Association, and the Federacao Paulista de Tennis in Brazil. He also enjoys reading, and counts John McPhee and Stephen Ambrose among his favorite authors.
